Dresden is a part of Germany I never have visited. Now that I have had the pleasure of the SL Dresden Art Museum experience, I will be sure to have Dresden on my itinerary when I next visit Germany.
As for complicating the austere views, every byte added means another drag on the network. It would be nice to have more realism but everybody's computer would be running a lot slower!
As our world web technology evolves maybe in another human generation or two, such superfluous excess will become commonplace. But, I suspect that people will rather choose simplicity of online scenes for two reasons.
First, they will be able to absorb and participate in a less crowded scenery, faster by the scale of human reaction time. Living more in the "real time". And second, avoid the pressure on networking resources of a "virtual" conspicuous consumption addiction.
